How do you get eggs on a cow tour?
We took a day trip to visit Paul Portugue, who lives near Curlew, Washington. The Portugue’s have purchased several Polled Hereford Bulls from us over the years.
When we found Paul, he was feeding hay to the herd from the back of his International pickup. The cows were following closely just in case the latest forkful might be better than the last one. Much to their disappointment, all the piles were the same.
We joined Paul for a cup of coffee and some great stories about his experiences with the mountain wildlife. Much to our surprise, we were sent home with three dozen farm fresh eggs. It has been wonderful breakfast eating at our house this past week. Thanks for the eggs and stories, Paul!
