Second cutting is coming on strong and just about ready to put into the barn. We leveled the floor and put down underlayment to protect the hay from moisture. The barn is empty but should have some beautiful second cutting alfalfa in it shortly.
It will be time to start the irrigation water again as the warm temps are making all the plants very thirsty. Fertilizer has been applied to the pasture so the cows will be happy when the water makes the grass green and tender for late summer grazing.
