The purchase of a calf warmer has come in handy. A much faster way to warm a calf and get it up and going. No mess to clean in the house either!
The calves have their own feeding and covered stall area so there is always something to munch on. They seem to like the soft, palatable barley hay.
The calves have access to a hay barn that has been converted to calf cubicles using big bales of straw. Makes for an out of the wind, dry place to eat hay and have a comfy rest.
We had a set of twin heifer calves born in January. Both are doing well and have been named Dot and Spot.
