The alfalfa, grass, and alfalfa/grass crops have been cut. Raking will begin next, followed by baling. The bales will then be transported to the barn and ready for sale. The first crop of the season is always the most difficult to put up as the weather can be unsettled and change quickly.
As soon as the crop is off the field, the irrigation water will be started. The alfalfa plants will appreciate a life-giving drink of water, so the growth process can continue. Second cutting will be here before we know it and the cycle will be repeated.
