Polled Hereford goes for $7,750…
Hagen Cattle and Hay topped the 25th Annual WCA Bull Test Sale held March 21, 2018, with their champion Polled Hereford bull Lot 43. H&S Durable Stud gained 3.77 pounds per day on the 120-day test and weighed 1415 pounds. His sire is Churchill Stud 3134A and his dam is H&S Donna Duramiss, an elite cow in the Hagen herd.
When Lot 43 entered the ring, auctioneer Butch Booker said, “Look at the EPDs and pedigree of this bull. He is bred in the purple (elite parentage).” At the end of very aggressive bidding, Lot 43 brought $7,750, which made him the high selling bull of the day. John Leendersten from Palouse, Washington was the buyer.
Gardiner Prime Angus of Bonners Ferry, Idaho had the high selling Angus bull. Lot 111 sold to Josh Garrett from Endicott, Washington for $7,700.
